Workshops

There is something quietly transformative about learning to make a lino print. The focus it asks of you, the satisfaction of the carved line, the moment the block lifts from the paper to reveal the print beneath — it stays with you.

Katie has been teaching printmaking for years, bringing the same warmth, patience and attentiveness to her workshops that shaped her earlier career in therapy and education. Sessions are supportive, accessible and genuinely enjoyable — whatever your age or experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Workshops can run from a couple of hours to a full two-day event, and can cover part or all of the lino printing process – from design and carving through to inking and printing. Katie adapts every session to the needs and abilities of the group, so whether you have never picked up a carving tool or are looking to develop existing skills, you will be well looked after.

CURRENT WORKSHOPS & BOOKING

Katie is a founding member of Mudlark Studio in Wivenhoe, a creative space right in the heart of the estuary town, which she runs alongside artists, Caroline Lewis and Hanna Buck. Katie teaches regularly from Mudlark studio, where weekly sessions are available for all ages, as well as specialist classes and events.

BRING KATIE TO YOU

Katie is available to run workshops and teaching sessions for a wide range of groups – schools, community groups, private events, corporate away days, and restorative retreats. Sessions can be tailored to any age, ability or location. The meditative quality of lino printing makes it a particularly beautiful fit for retreat settings – a slow, absorbing practice that invites presence and calm.
